Jazz Legends: Kenny Clarke

on BBC Radio 3

This week Julian Joseph focuses on the drummer Kenny Clarke - part of the bebop revolution of the 1940s along with Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie and Thelonious Monk. In the 1950s Clarke worked with vibes player Milt Jackson before moving to France and setting up a big band with pianist and arranger Francy Boland.
