THE Scene is laid in the oak-panelled lounge of a country house, between London and the Coast. Colonel Davidson is recovering from illness and is irritable and morose. After great persuasion by Nurse Frank, he tells the story of the winning of his coveted decoration during the Boer War. (Picture on page 651.)
