Around the World in 80 Days

on BBC One London

Third of seven programmes following Michael Palin 's globe-trotting adventures. Ancient Mariners. In a desperate attempt to make up time, Palin drives right across Arabia in 40 hours, only to find in Dubai the toughest challenge of the journey so far. He and Passepartout plan to sail to Bombay on a dhow - a small, primitive, sail-assisted vessel without radio, navigation aids, life-belts or electricity, with a crew of Gujarati mariners who speak hardly a word of English.
