Omnibus: L.A. - My Home Town

on BBC One London

The 57 British clubs in Southern California have a total membership of 350,000. Last summer, they held a British Fortnight in Los Angeles. One of their number, Ian Whitcomb, a British ex-rock 'n' roll star turned author and journalist, is our guide to the town he now calls home.

The tour includes the Huntington Art Gallery, home of Gainsborough's 'Blue Boy', and Disneyland, where Mickey Mouse parades with the British Consul General.

The Old Country is saluted at the British Commonwealth Games and at the British United Services Club in Hollywood. But not all Britishers are concerned with British Fortnight. Amongst the oblivious: Roy Dean, Shakespearean actor turned photographer; Peter Asher, once of 'Peter and Gordon', now a top record producer; and Suze Randall, who came from Worcestershire to become Playboy's queen of the lens.
