Rhino Rescue Narrated by David Attenborough
Ponderous and prehistoric, lordly and loud - herds of white rhino once roamed the savannahs of southern Africa in their thousands. By the turn of the century barely 25 survived - shot almost to extinction by trophy hunters.
Once again the Umfolozi Reserve in Natal is a checker-board of rhino territories - each a fascinating story of family life, each with a solitary male, like a medieval knight staking claim to his territory and his female. Photographed and directed by RODNEY BORLAND
