Special post trains left the main line stations. The House of Commons was still sitting. Some food shops and chemists were open all night, and at 5.0 a.m. Covent Garden got busy, not to mention the great Fish Market at Billingsgate. Mrs. Nisbett went to these places, and others, and saw it all.
