The young American poet Anne Waldman is already well known as an anthologist and organiser of poetry readings at St Mark's Church in-the-Bowery in New York City: Her work is very central to the development of the New York school of poets influenced by John O'Hara and Kenneth Koch , and its freshness, energy and range have been widely praised.
