Whale Nation
ApoembyHeathcote Williams performed by Roy Hutchins Omnibus presents a spellbinding hymn celebrating the oldest and largest mammal in the world. When Heathcote Williams began to have dreams about whales he decided to find out about these mysterious, intelligent and gentle creatures whose brains evolved 30 million years before man's.
Why is it that we are more willing to consider the possibility of other intelligences on distant planets than on our own? The poem poses this question and with rare and beautiful film footage you are taken on a fantastic voyage into the heart and mind of the Leviathan, the family of whales and dolphins:
An extra-terrestrial who has already landed
A marine intelligentsia with a knowledge of the deep.
