Each year more than 5,000 blind people depend for their wireless sets on the response to this Christmas Day broadcast Appeal-the only Appeal the British Wireless for the Blind Fund makes to the public. In addition to sets for the newly blinded, replacements are needed for many hundreds of sets which, after years of daily use. are finally worn out. Each new set costs £ 10 and since the first appeal in 1929 the Fund has provided altogether 165,000 sets and relay installations.
