Petroc Trelawny and Humphrey Burton introduce the climax of this year's competition from St David's Hall.
With 25 countries represented, including Cameroon, Turkey, Korea and Georgia, the contest to follow in the footsteps of former winners Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Katarina Karneus promises to be as keenly fought as ever. As well as the coveted title, the winning soloist receives £10,000, plus engagements with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and with Welsh National Opera. The singers are accompanied by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, with the results of both the main competition and of the Rosenblatt Recital Song Prize broadcast live at the end of the programme.
