Holby City: In the Bleak Mid Winter

on BBC One London

Kath, Ric, Jess and Kelly learn the value of friendship on Holby City's wards.
Writer Leslie Stewart : Producer Emma Turner : Director James Strong

MEDICAL DRAMA
Holby City 8.00pm BBC1
It may be the season to be jolly, but Nic (Liam Garrigan) and Kelly (Rachel Leskovac) don't have much to laugh about. After the explosive end to last week's episode, the pair are brought into Holby City Hospital fighting for their lives. Nic is the more badly injured of the two and has to be kept heavily sedated. His prognosis isn't good and, not surprisingly, the nursing staff treat him with thinly disguised contempt for putting them all through such hell. And of course Kath is understandably shaken at having Kelly around again.
While this is a decidedly downbeat storyline for the festive period (and matters don't improve in next week's episode, by the way), the arrival of Rowland Rivron, who guest stars as an overweight travelling salesman trying to flog snowstorms, may raise a smile or two among Holby stalwarts. JR
