Songs of Praise

on BBC One London

from Deptford, south east London

Tonight's Songs of Praise looks at the historic past and hope-filled future of a riverside borough through the stories of faith and hymns chosen by some of Deptford's Christians.
Teresa Franks, John Downs and Fr James Westcott are lifelong Deptford inhabitants.
Hilary Clarke and Armza Ruddock have made it their home.
Introduced by John Stuart Roberts, with hymns sung in the baroque splendour of St Paul's Church.

Battle hymn of the Republic (John Brown);
Jesus Is the answer;
Holy Virgin by God's decree;
Lead us, heavenly Father (Mannheim);
God Is our strength and refuge (The Dambusters' March);
Soul of my Saviour (Anima Christi);
When I survey (Rockingham);
We vow to thee our Father (Thaxted)
