Beethoven and His Contemporaries
Paul Hindmarsh introduces the first of four programmes recorded last May at the Sheffield Chamber Music Festival.
In the intimate atmosphere of the Crucible studios, the Lindsay Quartet and friends perform familiar works by Beethoven and lesser-known pieces by some of his friends and contemporaries. Today, an early trio and a late sonata by Beethoven played by Janet Hilton (clarinet), Bernard Gregor-Smith (cello) and Yolande Wrigley (piano).
