The last of six programmes with David Attenborough The Rare and the Curious
In the 19th century when zoos were first opened to the public, a search began across the would to be the first to find all the most rare and curious animals. Each discovery was a source of national pride. But the people who actually made the discoveries were only part-time zoologists; some were British colonial officers and one was a French missionary piiest.
Today DAVID ATTENBOROUGH talks about three of them: BRIAN HODGSON HARRY JOHNSTON , FR ARMAND DAVID
