Victoria, a struggling singer, is tryi ng to work the cabaret scene. By chance she meets Toddy, a witty, streetwise entertainer, who conceives a brilliant plan - to pass off Victoria as a female impersonator. "Victor/Victoria" is soon the toast of Paris, but complications arise, mainly in the shape of "King" Marchan.
