Mozart Allegro in G major, for string trio (K Anh 66) (first performance in this country)
In September 1788 Mozart began a string trio in G major, but he appears only to have completed the exposition and the first nine bars of the development of the first movement. We do not know why he did not finish the work-probably because he embarked almost immediately on his great Divertimento in E flat (K 563) for string trio. The unfinished G major movement is now performed in a conjectural completion by William Waterhouse
