Their opposition is likely to include the Olympic and defending champions Natalia Linichuk and Gennadi Karponosov as well as their fellow Soviets, the former champions Irina Moiseeva and Andrei Minenkov. Britain's second couple Karen Barker and Nicky Slater from Altrincham are expected to improve on last year's eighth place.
