Read by Rachel Kempson (1)
In April 1876 Charles Bravo was poisoned and died in agony. A coroner's jury found that he had been murdered but that there was ' not sufficient evidence to fix the guilt upon any person or ^ersons.' This novel is a fictional reconstruction of the events leading to Bravo's death and in particular an examination of the strange relationship between Mrs Charles Bravo and her one-time lover Dr Gully.
