The celebrated tarmac gang are back -to a city without work in a series of five screenplays made on Merseyside. 2: Moonlighter featuring
Dixie Dean-father of four and once the proud foreman. Night work-of sorts-on the docks, a wife earning pin money and the dole on the doorstep, leave Dixie vulnerable to conflicting pressures from all sides. Not a situation to thank the rest of the boys for.
Sometimes hilarious and often gripping - but mainly a pathetic and moving evocation of a man at the end of his tether - Tom Georoeson gave a marvellous performance as Dixie.
