American composer and arranger Henry Threadgill has been an influential and innovative force in jazz and improvised music since the 1960s. This band, recorded in concert at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in January, has an unusual line-up of two tubas, two electric guitars, a trombone and drums, with Threadgill playing alto sax and flute. The recording is introduced by Ben Watson , who talks to Henry Threadgill during the interval.
