Love Hurts: Promises

on BBC One London

Adam Faith is the first to acknowledge that the role of Frank Carver has revitalised his career in the same way that Budgie did in the 70s. "For 20 years, people have been coming up to me and saying 'why don't you do some more Budgie?' In another 20 years, when I'm staggering around on my Zimmer frame, I hope they'll be coming up and saying 'I wish you'd done more Love Hurts when you were younger.' But it's nice to leave things while they're hot."

In this fourth episode, Promises, Frank is negotiating a wine deal in Israel. Faith went there for the location work at the end of the shooting schedule for this series. "Zoe and I booed our eyes out on the last day of filming," he says, "but then we spent most of the series crying because it's so bloody emotional. Buy shares in tissue companies, because they're going to rocket when people watch this!"
