Desmond Carrington recalls the careers of entertainers who caught the public's attention with their distinctive style. The series continues with a profile of Liverpool-born singing sensation Frankie Vaughan (born Frank
Abelson). Hugely popular during the late 50s and early 60s with songs like The Green Door The
Garden of Eden, Tower of Strength and Give Me the Moonlight (his signature record), Vaughan gave much time to charity work and appeared with Marilyn Monroe in George Cukor 's 1960 film Let's Make Love. The programme features the singer's final performance, recorded just prior to his death in 1999, aged 71.
