A play for the microphone by Edwin Lewis
Produced by Edward Wilkinson
The action of the play takes place in Tom Eldon 's flat, in Sam Wharton 's flat, and on the doorstep of Paradise Buildings. The River Tyne flows behind the tenement, and frequently a siren reminds the people of Paradise Buildings that the great adventure of shipping still goes on in the world, but both the glory of the river and the brightness of the tenement have departed, leaving grimness and dirt.
This play was first produced in the Northern programme in March, 1936.
