Wildlife on One: Wanted Alive

on BBC One London

The black-footed ferret is the most wanted animal in the American west, with a reward of $10,000 on its head. Until 1981 it was thought to be extinct, but then a single surviving colony was found. But canine distemper decimated this last colony on earth, and in 1985 the 18 surviving ferrets were taken to a quarantined fortress near Laramie, Wyoming. Six years and six million dollars later, the first few were returned to the windswept prairies. Wildlife on One follows their struggle to survive in the wild. Will they succeed as hunters - and avoid being killed themselves by eagles and coyotes?
