ROBERT PRING-MILL , Fellow Of St Catherine's College, Oxford. presents a selection of the poems of Ernesto Cardenal , one of the most notable Latin American socially committed poets in the generation following that of Neruda. Born in 1925 and ordained a Roman Catholic priest in 1965, Cardenal now leads a small progressive commune on an island in Lake Nicaragua.
