The Best of Tomorrow's World

on BBC One London

A marvellous mechanical cow which grazes upon assorted green-stuffs at one end while the other delivers milk, meat extract, and fragrantly-scented manure; ballets composed and choreographed solely by a computer; a new bullet-proof waistcoat in which its inventor is quite prepared to stand up and be shot at. These are just some of the items in this evening's programme-the second of three-of films shown in the series which charts the brave and baffling new world of science and technology.
Tonight's introducer is Raymond Baxter, and he also invites you to look at how a child, born without natural protection against disease, is provided with 'armour;' and how a new super-tough man-made fibre stands up to the deadly karate chop.
