5.20 For Older Children
'Sense and Sensibility' by Jane Austen; adapted for broadcasting in six episodes by Jonquil Antony
3 - 'Tragedy for Marianne'
Produced by Mollie Austin
At a party at Barton Hall, Lucy Steele has told Elinor that Edward Ferrers, supposedly in love with Elinor, is secretly engaged to herself.
Next morning at the cottage Marianne waits for Willoughby to take her out. He is late and when he does come it is only to say that he must leave at once for London. Are these men honest in their intentions? We shall see!
