The Presidential Address by The Rt. Hon. DAVID LLOYD GEORGE , O.M., M.P. and The Adjudication on the Chair Poem and Ceremony of Chairing of the successful Bard Relayed from The Eisteddfod Pavilion,
Wrexham
The ceremony will be under the direction of the Archdruid, Gwili, and the Gorsedd Recorder,
Gwylfa
The Royal National Eisteddfod, the national bardic congress of Wales, and the crowning event of the year, in the artistic life of the Principality, makes its first appearance in today's programmes with the picturesque ceremony of the Chairing of the Bard. This coveted honour is awarded to the writer of what, in the opinion of the adjudicators, is the best ode submitted. The acclamation, chairing, and investiture, performed with sound of trumpet, of the chosen bard, is the grand event of the Eisteddfod. This ceremony is preceded by a speech by Mr. Lloyd George , President for the day, who on such an occasion is certain to rise to his greatest heights as an orator.
