View in Radio Times

by Renata Borgatti
Renata Borgatti had all the advantages of a musical background when a child. She is a daughter of Giuseppe Borgatti. the great Italian Wagnerian singer who was for ten years leading tenor at the Scala Theatre, Milan. After studying under Madame Hirzel Langen han in Munich, his daughter made her debut in Paris with Lamoureux.
Although she is giving a varied programme this evening, Renata Borgatti specialises in giving the complete works of composers in a series of recitals. She performed the complete piano works of Debussy at the Wigmore Hall in 1937. She is only in this country for a few months, and leaves at the end of July for her home in Switzerland, where she takes master classes at a well-known summer school. She has broadcast frequently from Italy and has given recitals all over Europe.
