Talk by E. H. Linfoot, sc.D., John Couch Adams Astronomer in the University of Cambridge Interest has been aroused among astronomers by the construction of a new type of telescope at the St. Andrews University Observatory under the direction of Dr. Finlay-Freundlich. In this talk Dr. Linfoot, who has been responsible for the designs, describes the telescope and explains some of the difficulties that must be overcome in the design and construction of such an instrument. The new telescope, the first of its kind to be put into use, is now installed in the Mills Observatory, Dundee.
