Theatre Date: Dames at Sea

on BBC One London

Scenes from the successful new musical by George Haimsohn and Robin Miller
Music by Jim Wise from the stage of the Duchess Theatre, London by arrangement with James Verner
This mini-musical with a cast of only six does for the Thirties what The Boy Friend did for the Twenties. The story is the traditional one of the chorus girl who becomes a star in a day. It is all a loving parody of a period in musical development that isn't really so far away.
"An affectionate parody of film musicals of the 1930s... endless charm, blissfully funny" (Daily Telegraph)
"Small gem of an idea... polished bright" (The Observer)
"Six magnificent mickey takers" The People
