4: International Law
The most elusive of all branches of law is International Law. It has no visible sanctions and virtually no courts. Yet it turns out to be a flourishing growth. How does it work? Who believes in it? Hugo Young explores these questions with the Chairman of the International Law Commission in Geneva, CHRISTOPHER PINTO, its British member SIR FRANCIS VALLATT, its Soviet member NIKOLAI USHAKOV, SIR IAN SINCLAIR , legal adviser to the Foreign Office, and other distinguished international lawyers.
