A series of six talks by Charles Raven
6-Science and the Work of the Holy Spirit
In this last talk of the series Canon Raven discusses the attitude of the Church to the work of the Holy Spirit and the influence that that has had upon the relation between science and religion. When the Church has been concerned with the full and free working of the Holy Spirit and has recognised the spontaneity that comes from that work, its relation with science has almost always been friendly. Canon Raven talks about the work of the Spirit and how this makes possible a new relationship between the members of the human community. He believes that here we see the necessity for the work of the Holy Spirit in our everyday relationships. The real hope for democracy is that it should find in Christ its loyalty, in his service its fulfilment, and in his Spirit its unity.
