Jeremy Nicholas celebrates the life and career of a popular radio comedian born 100 years ago today. Throughout the 1930s and 40s, Ronald Frankau 's saucy monologues and songs kept him at the top of his profession. He also formed a successful double act with Tommy Handley - Murgatroyd and Winterbottom. But he died penniless in 1951.
