Sir Felix Aylmer was six years old when Queen Victoria gave Henry Irving the knighthood which helped to establish the actor's standing in the community. Now, at 86. he represents the dignity and respectability which the acting orofession has achieved in his lifetime due mainly to his own efforts as a founder-member and past President of Equity. the actors' trade union.
In conversation with SHERIDAN MORLEY. Sir Felix remembers the foundation of Equity and recalls the great actor-managers of his youth with whom he worked.
