Giovanni Legrenzl was one of Monteverdi's successors at St Mark's, Venice. Like Monteverdi, he found time to write for the stage and for secular entertainments.
Nigel Rogers (tenor) is accompanied by Danilo Costantini (harpsichord) in a recital of secular Venetian cantatas framed by solo motets.
