International Balloon Race

An event which surprised and astounded two English counties and made news headlines round the world.
On May 12 ten passenger-carrying hydrogen balloons raced from a field near the Oxfordshire village of Stanton Harcourt. Pilots came from France, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, and the U.S.A., as well as Britain.
