The Virtuoso Wind Quintet:

This is a fairly new combination, having been formed in the summer of 1938. Since then the Quintet has played all over the country and it gave its first broadcast on April 15 of this year. Of the five members, four play for the London Symphony Orchestra. These are Edward Walker , flute ; John McCarthy , oboe ; Reginald Kell , clarinet, and Alan Hyde , horn. The fifth member of the combination is G. Vinter , principal bassoon of the BBC Military Band.
