Renaissance Dance Music from Italy

on BBC Radio 3

From a Renaissance Entertainment given at a public concert in the Queen Elizabeth Hall , London, in 1969 by MUSICA RESERVATA director MICHAEL MORROW conductor JOHN BECKETT
Michael Morrow writes: 'With few exceptions this music forms part of a repertory that was largely international. The instrumental dances, as well as most of the vocal pieces, are arrangements of popular songs rather than original compositions.'
The instruments, which include lutes, rebecs and various wind, all belong to the period.
