Production by Audrey Cameron
On the Lindis Pass gold diggings, James Pearson-a widower with two children -has opened a small store. The miners have supported him rather than Wilson, the profiteering son-in-law of Angus McNab-a merchant of Dunedin, for whom Pearson used to work. Wilson has offered to buy Pearson out, without success. He, therefore, starts a libellous campaign against Pearson's honesty. But the diggers take a man as they find him, and leave their gold with Pearson for safe-keeping. So Wiison engages a tough character to pick a quarrel with Pearson, who walks into the trap.
