A controversy on the decoration of canal boats
Barbara Jones (an artist). Sonia Smith (a boat-woman). C. A. Wilson (South-East Divisional Engineer of the Docks and Inland Waterways Executive). R. W Patterson (director of a private carrying company), and other witnesses, examined by Hal Jukes For more than a hundred years the long boats that carry goods on the canals and inland waterways of Great Britain have been decorated with paintings of roses and castles.
