A twentieth-century tribute to Horace: written and produced by Louis MacNeice
[Starring] Stephen Murray and Mary O'Farrell

This programme is partly the portrait of a modern 'Horatian' gentleman and partly an anthology of verse. It contains translations and paraphrases of Horace's Odes, and original poems by Englishmen in the Horatian tradition; there are also snatches of the Latin original and recordings of yesterday's song-hits.

(The recorded broadcast of October 8)

followed by an interlude at 9.15
