For some people Christmas is primarily a religious festival, for some it's an opportunity for a rest, and for some it's a Bacchanalian orgy. But for everybody it should be a time for laughter. There is the raucous variety - parties, pantomimes and so on - and there is the quieter laughter which is what Vincent Kane sets out to inspire in this light-hearted look at Christmas, in prose, poetry and a little music.
