A centenary tribute to Ludwig Koch
Born in Germany 100 years ago, LUDWIG KOCH pioneered the recording of wildlife sounds and became one of Britain's best-loved broadcasters. Desmond Hawkins looks back over his long and eventful life with the help of some of those who knew him, as well as recorded excerpts from his broadcasts.
Even listeners who may never have heard him will find the unique and charming way he had with the English language quite irresistible.
