Paul Jones's Blues Legends

on BBC Radio 2

6/6. Paul Jones concludes his look at six of the last century's most significant contributors to the genre by paying tribute to
Big Bill Broonzy , the most prolific blues artist of the late 1920s and the 1930s, who recorded with the likes of Washboard Sam and Memphis Minnie.
He was also the pioneer of the blues this side of the Atlantic, touring Europe and the UK several times in the 1950s.
