The Four Seasons

on BBC Radio 3

by Patrick Howarth
2: Summer and Autumn
In this new long poem the author reads from his meditations on the seasons as they affect a Londoner in his mid 50s.
To man who persistently probes towards an after-existence
Comes this last great beneficent ai/t from his creator
That while he has life on earth the mystery is never resolved.
