War School: 1: Kitson's Class

on BBC One London

A four-part series on the making of tomorrow's top commanders.
Michael Cockerell reports on the lives and training of young officers at the Army Staff College at Camberley.
General Frank Kitson - the army's leading expert on guerrilla warfare, who calls himself 'a military radical' - is Commandant of the Staff College. Under him, the officers - the young elite of the army - learn about modern war and how to combat urban terrorism. Tonight they discover, through a tough 24-hour battle exercise, what it would be like to mount a counter-revolutionary campaign - in mainland Britain.
