For nine successive years, 1923 to 1932, the Grand Good-night in one form or another was broadcast by the BBC at the close of the programmes each New Year's Eve, establishing itself as a well-loved feature among an ever-widening circle of listeners. Tonight it is revived for the first time since the death in 1933 of its-originator and author, J.C. Stobart. In a revised form, applicable to this fifth Christmas of war. its message of greeting will embrace all who strive, in various ways great and small, to hasten the coming of victory.
