Stuart Maconie launches a second six-part series devoted to one of the most popular and enduring of all musical cults - Northern Soul. Maconie combines classic tracks with comments from some of the genre's movers and shakers. The first segment features celebrity soul fan Mike Pickering, the former DJ and founder of M People, whose debut album was titled "Northern Soul".
