This ice event has attracted competitors from 11 countries, including the two strongest ice skating nations in the world -the USSR and the USA. Two events reach their climax with tonight's Free programme: The Ice Dance features Britain's JAYNE TORVILL and CHRISTOPHER DEAN , fourth in the World Championships earlier this year and, with the retirement of Robin Cousins, our main hopes for honours in the 1981 season.
The Men should provide an exciting battle between the Canadian champion BRIAN POCKAR , American SCOT HAMILTON, IGOR BOBRIN from the USSR, and Japan's brilliant free skater FUMIO IGARASHI. Commentator ALAN WEEKS
